Join us on the 19th March and climb aboard a special train to enjoy a leisurely trip behind an historic steam locomotive through the valley of the River Dart.
Our Devon cream tea restaurant service is now sold out, however standard train travel is available.

Trains depart Buckfastleigh Station throughout the afternoon and will take a leisurely journey of just over an hour to Totnes Riverside and return. During the journey, a traditional Devon Cream Tea of a scone, jam and cream, with tea or coffee, will be served at your seat. An option of fruit juice will be available for children. Your Cream Tea ticket will also entitle you to unlimited travel on our other services throughout the day; perfect for exploring the local area or taking a walk through the springtime flowers.
Although we are able to offer a gluten free option, we unfortunately are not able to cater for other dietary requirements for this event.
Bookings for our Cream Teas on Mother’s Day must be made in advance via our website or over the phone on 01364 644370. When booking, you will be able to select your seats on the train. Please note that if, once you have made your seat selection, there are available seats at your table, these seats may be purchased by a different customer.

Standard Steam Train Travel
Our steam train provides the perfect day out for the whole family. Why not joint us at one of our historic stations and spend the day exploring the valley of the River Dart this springtime?
Jump into a world of nostalgia, where our heritage steam trains gently meander alongside the river Dart through glorious Devon scenery. See the guard wave their flag, hear the engine blow its whistle and glimpse the whisps of white steam drifting past your window. Enjoy a ride along our line in our beautifully restored vintage carriages to our historic stations, with lots more to see and do when you are here.
There are four return trips between Buckfastleigh and Totnes, with all services planned to be formed of our historic carriages, pulled by a steam engine. There are various ticket options including return journeys (below) as well as Rangers for all day travel.
