Maintaining a railway with infrastructure and equipment that is already well over 50 years old is an expensive job. Spare parts are no longer easy to come by or available “off the shelf”. Often we need to manufacture them ourselves, so keeping everything in tip top condition requires constant investment.
From donating, to becoming a fundraiser, to leaving a legacy, there are many ways you can help us, there are even some which won’t cost you anything but a few moments of your time, so please have a good look through and help us where you can.
The SDR Foundation Fund is an initiative for the ongoing benefit of the South Devon Railway. We are asking you to join us and, in so doing, help secure the future of the railway by providing financial support.

Most of our coaches are now over 50 years old and have well exceeded their designed lifespan. As with all heritage equipment and machinery, keeping our coaches well maintained and in good working order is a time consuming and expensive task.
You can make a one off donation to help with the upkeep of our coaches via Paypal Giving Fund. Thank you.
