The Mad Hatter’s Travelling Tea Party starts at Buckfastleigh Station, TQ11 0DZ. Please ensure you have arrived by the time shown on your tickets, and follow the signs for the Mad Hatter’s Travelling Tea Party where our staff will guide you to the event.
The Mad Hatter’s Travelling Tea Party is an immersive experience that lasts for approximately 75 minutes, and is a full theatrical show on board our steam train. There are lots of opportunities for everyone to interact with the characters as they are brought to life on board. A selection of cakes and a cold drink are served to each customer during the experience, and there are plenty of photo opportunities for everyone!
There are four Mad Hatter’s Travelling Tea Party sessions per day on April 11th and April 12th, starting at Buckfastleigh Station at 1020, 1200, 1405 and 1535.
Adults are £24 and Children are £20. There are no discounts available, however under-3s can travel free if they can sit on your lap.
The show is suitable for all ages. It is family friendly and suitable for age 0-120! It is scripted, with lots of talking and interactions as opposed to a simple meet and greet, with Wonderland characters coming through the carriages. Your children will need to be able to stay in their seats, both as part of railway safety and also as the aisles are used both as a stage and as a travel route for the characters throughout the show, therefore must be kept clear.
We welcome Wonderlanders of all shapes and sizes to the Mad Hatter’s Travelling Tea Party! Adult only groups are welcome to join us on board, particularly if they are going to join in!
Dressing up is entirely optional, you do not have to dress up. It is, however, encouraged.
There are no hidden charges on the day. Your ticket includes a hot or cold drink, a selection of cake (vegan option available), the show (including a ride on the train) and parking at Buckfastleigh is free too!
The carriages used for this event are heritage railway carriages, and we regret they are not wheelchair accessible.
We regret that this experience is not suitable for dogs. However, registered working assistance dogs are welcome.
