South Devon Railway Re-Signalling
Today, 1st April 2026, the South Devon Railway announced on its Facebook page an ambitious resignalling scheme that would see all signalling transferred to an Integrated Electronic Control Centre at Buckfastleigh.
If you didn’t realise the date, then don’t worry, it’s only an April Fools. However, our heritage infrastructure including our lovely mechanical signalling does require a lot of care and maintenance, and this costs a lot of money.
