Dining Trains at the South Devon Railway

Enjoy a delicious dining experience whilst reliving the charming days of premier class travel in prestigious carriages with South Devon Railway! In 1879, the first Restaurant Car was introduced in the UK, turning on-train dining into an experience to cherish, and you can now step aboard our restored dining cars and turn back the clock to those heady days.

Whether it’s a hearty three-course Sunday roast, a luscious local afternoon cream tea, a Ploughman’s Lunch, or a sumptuous Pullman Churchill Breakfast experience, we have local culinary delights to savour, served directly to your reserved table in our 1920s Pullman Car, ‘Lydia’, or our 1950s Restaurant Car.

Dine and travel in true style along our heritage railway line, with the stunning riverside scenery of the Dart Valley as your backdrop.
