Wickham chassis
This chassis is the remnants of an old Wickham trolley that was used on the line in the early days of preservation. According to research kindly supplied by Wickham expert Keith Gunner, it was originally Wickham motorised trolley type 17 no 946, supplied new to British Railways Southern Region, or type 17A no 4149 from British Railways Western Region. Engine and body disappeared many years ago and it has not turned a wheel since it was used to take materials to Totnes Littlehempston for the construction of the station there in the 1980s.
