BR Mk 1 Tourist Second Open (TSO)
W4496, built by BR in York in 1956 W4962, built by BR in Wolverton in 1960 TSOs are basically the same as the SOs but feature two seats on each side of the gangway, increasing the seating from 48 in the SOs to 64 in the TSOs. W4496, spent many years stationary on a siding at Newton Abbot outside the premises of publishers David & Charles, before being presented to the SDR by David St John Thomas, patron of the South Devon Railway Association. Both these coaches are in regular use on the SDR.
