Family Fun at the South Devon Railway

We will be running our very first ‘Family Fun Weekend’ this coming weekend, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July, when the railway will create a summer fair atmosphere at Buckfastleigh with lots of family entertainment.

In addition to two train running on the railway with trains every 45 minutes from 10am and the attraction of our two neighbours at Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies and Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, we have laid on all sorts to see and do all weekends!

The entertainment and extra features include 1940s fairground rides, music organ and children’s games in the gardens; steam car rides around the site; face painting and magic shows; railway brake van rides at Buckfastleigh; the ever popular miniature railway and garden railway; heritage bus rides (Sunday only); museum, signal box and Lee Moor Tramway shed all open; small traction engines on display; and a ‘Guess the number of balloons in the Land Rover’ competition!

Normal entry and train prices will apply throughout with a nominal charge for some of the extra entertainment. The gift shop and Refreshment Rooms, which have just been awarded a Taste of the West Bronze Award for the second year running, will be open as usual.
